Additional Types of Visas

Albuquerque Immigration Attorney

There are many types of non-immigrant visas which an individual can apply for to obtain a temporary status in the U.S. At Maney & Gordon, P.A., we are a large immigration firm with 6 offices in 5 cities. An experienced Albuquerque immigration lawyer from our office can meet and discuss your individual situation and determine the type of visa that best applies to your situation. Armed with this information, we work energetically to get any issues regarding your application resolved towards obtaining the visa you need.

A B-1 or business visitor visa is used for attendance at conferences or business meetings, purchasing trips or making sales calls. It is generally granted for a period of 3 months or less, although extensions can be granted. A B-2 visa, visitor for tourism or pleasure, is intended for use by non-immigrants only and is for vacations, to see relatives and friends and personal trips.

Foreign students can obtain an F-1 visa which has specific requirements that must be met prior to filing an application. This visa is for studying within the U.S. at a college or university. It is also used when a student needs to go through an English as a second language program before attendance at a college or university.
